Douglas County Libraries in Parker is located at the intersection of East Mainstreet and Pine, offering nearly 42,000 square feet of space on two floors.

Parker Library

The library features high-tech meeting and event spaces, including a multi-use Event Hall and adjacent terrace, six study rooms, the Recording Studio, and two comfortable conference rooms — plus several interactive alcoves. The dedicated children’s area includes the Kids Corner for Storytimes and events, as well as playful, interactive architecture.

Parker Library

Easily browse materials and enjoy amenities like laptop checkouts, a drive-through book drop, ample parking, and plenty of spaces for sitting and reading, such as the café-like Lounge and upstairs Den with fireplace.

Community Event Room

Where community and library join together to provide a myriad of opportunities to engage and entertain the public. It’s the perfect setting for hosting events from social functions to business meetings, to educational and entertaining programs.

  • Accommodates up to 250 people with additional spill-over into library
  • Windows overlooking the plaza to bring the “outdoors indoors”
  • Features moveable walls, modern video conferencing, large screen


Children’s Educational/Interactive Wall

Creative and mesmerizing. Promotes experiential learning. Separates main library area from Integrated Family Area. Duration will be for life of the structure.


Family First Room

Offers a wide range of new experiences, learning and physical activity. Demonstrates the library’s unique capacity for spaces where children and families come together to acquire information and knowledge in a creative an entertaining manner.

“Fun” Conference Room

Offering non-traditional meeting space for those who desire upscale and comfy options. Semi-private with flexible arrangement where guests can comfortably converse, present and collaborate. Modern video-conferencing. Seats 40 people – can accommodate more with expansion into library.

Quiet Study Area

Cozy, sleek and comfortable furniture to sink into and read quietly. Away from the door and event space for a quieter experience. Integrated collection spaces including the ever popular magazine and newspaper section. The “get away” area for those who prefer more contemplation and study time.

Study Rooms

Encouraging privacy as well as collaboration, depending on community needs. Complete with wall mounts for tablets/screens/monitors. Accommodates 4-6 people in comfortable surroundings.

Niche Study/Relaxation Area

Without walls, for those who enjoy semi-privacy with access to special collections. Creates an open environment between study rooms allowing for reading/study/relaxation.

Conference Rooms

Traditional business-style rooms for presentations, skype, and other collaborative work.


Learning Commons/Learning Lab

An energizing and flexible environment on the first floor near Café Vibe where patrons (adults and students) can engage in diverse learning activities. Includes space for group collaboration as well as individual study, with modern technology, and specialty assistance with information and technology resources. Furniture is mixed with movable walls for configuration for different needs.

Fusion Lab (Sold)

An interactive maker-space, where library cardholders can mix music, make movies, and use other digital creation software for business or fun. Features a green screen and state-of-the-art equipment to create top-quality products.

Toddler Interactive Area

Away from the mainstream library on the first floor, providing an exclusive interactive environment for parents, grandparents, caregivers and kids.


Baby Pool (not water! – crawling area for babies)

Adjacent to the interactive toddler zone, with a crawling area surrounded by a rounded bumper to ensure baby’s safety. Comfy seating for adults, and includes the board books for the little ones.

Digital Tablet Dispenser

Integrating tablets into library services. For those very familiar with tablet technology and those desiring to learn. Located near Café Vibe and the Learning Lab.


Outdoor Bench, Bike Racks, Flagpole, Small Garden (Sold)

Opportunities to commemorate a loved one or celebrate an event. All items will have a dedicated donor plaque.
