Douglas County Libraries (DCL) is pleased to announce the selection of Fransen Pittman Construction Company, Inc., as general contractor for the construction of new libraries in Parker, Castle Pines and Lone Tree.
The firm was chosen and approved by the DCL Board of Trustees last month for the perceived strength of their pre-construction services, the lowest overall fee proposal, ability to perform the work, experience with library construction, and overall strength of the team.
“We chose Fransen Pittman primarily for their relevant experience in building multiple libraries for organizations looking to redefine the library’s services and facilities model,” said DCL project owner’s representative Bruce Flynn. “We also loved their enthusiasm and their core team’s ability to communicate.”
Fransen Pittman’s selection followed an initial request for qualification sent to more than 400 firms; 12 responded. Based on team member qualifications, relevant experience, and capacity for simultaneous projects of this size, five firms were invited to submit proposals and interview with a team of library staff and board members.
Notable Fransen Pittman building and/or remodeling projects include libraries in Nederland, Rangeview Library District (Anythink), and Arapahoe Library District (Koelbel and Southglenn); the Children’s Museum of Denver; DCS Montessori School (Castle Pines); SkyView Academy (Highlands Ranch); and St. Francis of Assisi Church (Castle Rock).
